Scan old documents painlessly

You can quickly scan any paper document for uploading to LivesArchived using  a smartphone and a free app called Genius Scan.

1. Install Genius Scan for iPhone or Android
2. Genius Scan will prompt you to take a pictures of the document and suggest the edges of the page.  You can also add additional pages and save as a PDF file.
3. Android
   1. Open Chrome on your phone and go to LivesArchived.com
   2. Navigate to the person’s archive.   Click Submit items and upload the document from the phone.   Note: If you are not the curator for the person you upload for, the photo will not be public until the curator approves the photo.
4. iPhone
   1. Send the document via email or other cloud service so it is available on a computer.
   2. On the computer, navigate to the person’s archive.   Click Submit items and upload the document from the computer.   Note: If you are not the curator for the person you upload for, the document will not be public until the curator approves the photo.
