Favorite movies and music

A person’s favorite movies and music can tell a lot. Two free services allow you to rate music and music albums to help discover new things. Both service allow you to export all of your ratings to a file than may be uploaded to LivesArchived for sharing.

MovieLens.org

MovieLens is run by the University of Minnesota and has a wonderful prediction engine based on your rates.   To export all of the movies you have rated, click on Settings, Export.   The resulting file may be uploaded to LivesArchived for sharing with friends and relatives.

RateYourMusic.com

The site allows you to catalog and rate both music and film.   They provide an export button right on your main page.   The resulting file may be uploaded to LivesArchived for sharing with others.

An alternative to either service is Excel but the services are much faster and have capabilities beyond recording your likes.
